ABOUT ME

Keep Up With Car is not just a travel blog or a YouTube channel. It is the result of different chapters of my life coming together: growing into myself, working in front of cameras, travelling with the people I love, and learning that the best stories are usually the ones you could never plan perfectly.

I’m Carlijn, but most people call me Car. I’m a Dutch travel creator, travel vlogger, and the person behind Keep Up With Car. I grew up between different countries, cultures, and versions of myself, and I think that’s why I’ve always been drawn to places, people, images, and stories.

Travel has a way of waking up parts of me that everyday life can sometimes make quiet: curiosity, courage, humor, and that small voice that says, “Just go and see.” Not to sound corny, but we only get one life on this planet, and I don’t intend to waste it. Through Keep Up With Car, I share the beautiful views, the messy moments, the useful travel tips, and the real stories that happen somewhere between the plan and the plot twist.

Travel has never just been about the destination for me. It is also about who is beside me, laughing through the chaos, questioning my decisions, and somehow making every trip feel more like a story. That person is usually my twin sister, Cara.

Cara has been my built-in travel buddy for as long as I can remember. We have explored the world together through different life chapters, different countries, and plenty of moments where things absolutely did not go according to plan. She brings humor, honesty, sisterly commentary, and that familiar twin energy that makes Keep Up With Car feel more personal than a standard travel guide. Honestly, the brand would not be what it is without her.

Noah is my twin sister Cara’s son, and without even trying, he became one of the sweetest, funniest, and most unexpected parts of this whole journey. He brings a completely different energy into our travels. Suddenly it is not just about chasing views, finding cute cafés, or surviving chaotic transport days. It is also about wonder, small moments, belly laughs, snack stops, sandy feet, and seeing the world through little eyes that are discovering everything for the first time.

Traveling with Noah has added a whole new layer to Keep Up With Car. He reminds us to slow down, to notice the obvious things adults somehow forget to see, and to enjoy places in a more playful and real way. One minute we are planning routes and filming vlogs, the next we are building sandcastles, carrying toys, or laughing at something completely ridiculous that somehow becomes the best moment of the day.

He may be the smallest member of the crew, but he has fully secured his place in the story. So yes, there are three of us now. Cara, me, and our little third musketeer, Noah.

Before travel vlogging became my life, modeling taught me a lot about images, confidence, movement, style, and how a single frame can say something before a word is spoken. I spent years in front of cameras, learning how visuals work, how emotion reads on screen, and how much power there can be in one strong moment.

But over time, I wanted more than the final polished image. I wanted the story around it too: where we were, what it felt like, what went wrong, what surprised me, and why the moment mattered. That shift is what eventually pulled me toward travel vlogging. It gave me space to combine visuals with personality, honesty, humor, and real human experience. The frame still matters, but now the story matters even more.

The vlog became the place where everything finally made sense: the travel, the storytelling, the humor, the mistakes, the beautiful moments, and the real ones nobody plans for. I never wanted to create perfect travel videos that only show the dream view and skip the actual experience. That has never felt honest to me.

Keep Up With Car is about travel that feels alive. The useful tips, the awkward moments, the cultural details, the emotional bits, the hotel stays, the road trips, the missed turns, the good meals, and the tiny scenes that somehow stay with you longer than the famous landmark. My goal is to help people travel smarter and deeper, but also to remind them that the best stories usually happen when things are not perfectly controlled.

In a perfect world, I would build a solid income, keep traveling, and explore the world until I physically cannot anymore. But we all know that being an entrepreneur and creative is not exactly the easy road. Romantic? Hell yeah. Stable? Not really.

But I am not a quitter. I will keep going, keep creating, keep learning, and keep turning these wild little dreams into something real. I want Keep Up With Car to grow into a travel brand that helps people plan better trips, discover more meaningful places, and feel a little more curious about the world. Fingers crossed, camera charged, snacks packed, and probably still slightly overpacked, as per usual.
